the ohgeez story
Ohgeez is a mother owned and run organic kids clothing company committed to the preservation of the earth and the health of children. Ohgeez always uses certified organic fibers, and the majority of its fabric is milled in the USA. All Ohgeez garments - and everything in and on them from thread to hang tags - are manufactured domestically. The beautiful colored fabric is dyed using a low impact fiber reactive process with minimal effects on our environment.

Ohgeez was born in 2004. Owner and founder Teresa Myers has been passionate and supportive of organic clothing for many years, before "going green" was a buzz word. Twelve years ago Teresa owned a women's and children's clothing company using her own beautiful, creative designs and, of course, certified organic cotton. Since then, people around the globe have become aware of the environmental damage caused by the pesticides used for conventionally-grown cotton and the affects of those pesticides on children. Not only is Teresa committed to using all organic fibers and manufacturing in the USA , she has a keen sense of what kids want: comfortable, soft and fun clothes. And, Ohgeez has just added a line of sophisticated and stylish organic linen to the collection.

"We are often asked how we came up with the name Ohgeez. My son Sammy was a baby during the time Ohgeez was coming to life, and after many hours of brainstorming trying to come up with a unique name, it was right before our eyes and ears. 'Ohgeez...Ohgeez...Ohgeez'... Sammy said over and over for months. Although the words had no meaning at the time, they do now."

Teresa's feeling is, "There is no reason why we can't have beautiful and organic, right?" Because people are becoming aware of the importance of protecting our environment, it now makes it easier to continue a small business in the organic industry.
